About Us

The Carly came to life during a time when everything slowed down—and in that stillness, something became clear:

A good life doesn’t require much. Just the right people, a bit of space, and time to actually enjoy it.

What started as a creative outlet and a reset from our day-to-day became something more—a place shaped by the way we wanted to live, gather, and spend time together.

That’s what The Carly is about.

Not more. Just better.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe the best moments are usually the simplest ones.

A long meal that turns into an even longer conversation.
A quiet morning with nowhere to be.
A place to sit that turns into a place to stay.

The Carly was built for that.

A modern gray house with large windows, surrounded by lush trees and greenery, with a patio and garden in the foreground.

It’s taken time & patience.

The land you see today didn’t start this way.

The forest was cleared and restored—removing decades of overgrowth to let light, air, and life return. Ferns came back. Birds and deer followed. The hillside opened up again.

The meadow and gardens were planted with intention, designed to change with the seasons and give nature room to do what it does best.

It’s still evolving. That’s part of the point.

Living room with a large striped sofa adorned with multiple patterned pillows, a rustic wooden coffee table holding a vase of green hydrangeas, wooden-paneled walls, artwork on the wall, large windows showing lush green trees outside, and soft ceiling lights.

Inside, nine thoughtfully designed suites and gathering spaces strike a balance between considered design and lived-in comfort. Everything has been curated, but nothing feels precious.

Bring your people.

Cook something worth sharing.
Have a drink by the fire.
Walk the trails.
Stay up later than planned.

Sit wherever feels right.

Make yourself at home

Why the Chair?

The monobloc patio chair is one of the simplest objects—unassuming, familiar, and found on patios, decks, lawns, and gardens everywhere. And yet, The Carly is quite the opposite: bespoke, layered, and deeply considered.

And that’s exactly the point.

The chair’s design is so resolved and so functional that it quietly disappears. What’s left is the act itself—sitting down, staying awhile, being together.

It’s a reminder that simple things—done well—are often the most meaningful.

We built The Carly for these moments: long conversations, shared meals indoors and out, a glass of wine at the right time, the feeling of not needing to be anywhere else.

At The Carly, there’s always a place to sit—quietly or together.
